Emarsys accounts come with around 50 standard fields for storing contact data. These are known as system fields. In addition to there, you can create your own custom fields.
System fields
Every Emarsys account comes with a standard set of contact data fields such as Salutation, Title, First name, Last name, Email address, etc.
These system fields can neither be edited nor deleted.
If you need a system field to be defined differently, for example, because you want to include more or other options in the Title field, you must create a copy of the system field and rename it; the new field will then behave like a custom field.
These articles list the system fields, their numeric IDs and their string IDs, as well as the values of single-and multi-choice fields:
Product fields
There are also some fields which are created depending on your product package and the add-ons you have purchased, for example the Do not track me field for Web Extend or channel-specific opt-in fields.
Product fields must not be deleted or renamed as that will cause the respective product to stop working as expected. Since they are enabled individually for each account, their IDs will vary from account to account.
You can find the ID of a product field on the Field Editor page (Management menu).
Custom fields
Custom fields are created by you or another administrator. They can be edited, deleted or copied as required. On the Field Editor Overview page, click New or select a field and click Edit to open the Field Generator (see below), where you can create and adapt fields according to your needs.

Voucher fields
In addition to the above, Emarsys also uses database fields to manage vouchers. Voucher fields are specific fields which are then assigned to individual voucher pools which enable you to send vouchers with your emails.

Formatting fields in CSV files
When you are preparing data files for import into Emarsys, you must make sure that they are correctly formatted, and that the field types are suitable for the data they contain.
