    Editing Content:: Saving and reusing blocks

    This feature lets you select and save content blocks from your current block-based email campaign, so you can easily reuse blocks in future campaigns without starting over. You can create a personal library for your favorite reusable blocks, which you can easily insert into new email campaigns, built from the same email template.

    Benefits of reusing blocks

    • Saving time: Reuse content blocks that retain all original block-level settings, including content, recommendation logic, and targeting rules.
    • Maintaining consistency: Ensure a consistent look and feel across your campaigns by reusing your customized blocks.
    • Optimizing performance: Identify high-performing blocks from previous campaigns and reuse them to enhance engagement.
    • Reusing ESL Snippets: Save blocks containing ESL snippets and insert them into new campaigns effortlessly.

    How to save and reuse blocks?

    Follow these steps to save blocks for reuse and insert them into new campaigns:

    Saving a block in an existing email campaign

    1. Go to Channels > Email Campaigns and select a block-based email campaign that contains the block you intend to reuse.
    2. Open the campaign by clicking the icon.
    3. In the Visual Content Editor (VCE ) in the Content Creation step select a block.
    4. Save the block by clicking the Save to reuse icon on the editing toolbar.
      • The saved block will be listed under the Saved Blocks category at the bottom of the block list.
      • You can filter on the block-list for quicker access or search for the block by name.

    Inserting a saved block into a new campaign

    1. Create a new email campaign using the same template as used for the source campaign.
    2. Select a pre-saved block in the Saved Blocks category in the left pane.
    3. Drag and drop the desired block into your campaign.

    Customizing the inserted block

    The inserted block inherits all attributes and settings from the source block, as a copy. Optionally, you can further customize it. You can change the style of the selected block. For more information, see Block-level style settings.

    Managing the inserted block

    Optionally, you can perform the following on your reusable block:

    • You can click the edit icon to add unique identifiers to a block that can be used to narrow the list using the search function.
    • You can delete a block from the list of saved blocks by clicking the remove icon on the editing toolbar. Note that, Deleting a block will only remove it from the block list. Blocks added to campaigns are not affected.

    Saved blocks get their names from the block-template they were made from. If the template's name changes, the saved blocks' names will change too. However, if you give a saved block a unique name, it won't be affected by changes to the template's name.

    Use cases

    • Reuse customized blocks: Save blocks you have tailored with specific content or settings to reuse in future email campaigns without starting from scratch.
    • Create a favorites library: Build a collection of frequently used blocks for quick access.
    • Experiment: Save and use multiple versions of the same block across campaigns.
    • Enhance campaign performance: Utilize analytics to identify and reuse blocks that have performed well in past campaigns.
    • Easily reuse ESL snippets: Save blocks containing ESL snippets to streamline personalized content creation.

    Known limitations

    • Template Compatibility: To ensure correct function, blocks can only be reused in campaigns created from the same template as the source campaign.
    • Block availability: Saved blocks are stored per template. Every saved block is visible to all users of the same account..
    • Static Content: Saved blocks retain the content and settings from when they were saved. Any changes made to the original block after saving will not be reflected in the saved version.
