Campaign Translator:: Setting up the Campaign Translator – Emarsys

This page provides you with information for configuring the VCE Campaign Translator add-on. Once you have requested the enabling of the Campaign Translator add-on from your CSM, it is necessary to configure your default translation options.

Configuring translation defaults

Go to Emarsys > Add-ons > Campaign Translator.
Open the Providers tab, where all the currently enabled providers are listed on the account.
Click the Settings icon.

The configuration options vary depending on the service provider:
- SAP AI Translator
- DeepL Translator
- Smartling Translator

SAP AI translator options

In the Translator Provider drop-down list select: SAP AI Managed.
In case of having several providers, you can set it as a default option.
Select the target language you want to use.
The majority of service providers offer support for all major languages currently in use.
Provide a basic prompt to the AI tool that describes your business and your brand. This input will be used by the AI tool in all your translations, influencing the tone of the generated text.
In SAP AI tool, you can set the
- Temperature,
- Frequency and
- Presence of the translations using a slider control.
It also offers a toggle for formal language use.

We encourage you to play around with these settings using a basic text template and find the optimal configuration for your brand. For this you need to set up and submit the configuration, then use the Campaign Editor to create a campaign using your generic email template and create test transitions from that. If you need you can adjust the Temperature settings and prompt text and generate another translation.

Once you are satisfied with the results, Submit configuration as default.
You can override these defaults for individual campaigns in the Content Creation step of the email campaign creation process.

DeepL translator options

In the Translator Provider drop-down list select: DeepL Test Provider.
In case of having several providers, you can set it as a default option.
Select the target language you want to use.
The majority of service providers offer support for all major languages currently in use.
Provide a basic prompt to the AI tool that describes your business and your brand. This input will be used by the AI tool in all your translations, influencing the tone of the generated text.
You can set the toggle for formal language use.
Submit configuration as default.

Smartling translator options

In the Translator Provider drop-down list select: Smartling Test.
In the Smartling Project drop-down list select your project.
Smartling organizes its translation configurations into projects.
Select the target language you want to use.
The majority of service providers offer support for all major languages currently in use.
Submit configuration as default.
You can override these defaults for individual campaigns in the Content Creation step of the email campaign creation process.
