The Emarsys Marketing Platform application supports simultaneous logins from the same browser session to different accounts. This feature allows you to log in to account A and account B from the same browser, while keeping the two accounts completely sandboxed.
However, some add-ons and services do not support this, since allowing them to function in such a way can cause inconsistent behavior. When the application detects multiple sessions from the same browser, it displays the following warning when you try to open such an add-on or service:
How to fix this?
If you encounter this error, simply open a different browsing session. There are several ways you can do this.
Most modern browsers have an incognito/private browsing mode, which allows you to have more than one session open, so you can log in to two accounts simultaneously.
Please note that separate tabs in private browsing are not different sessions.
Firefox has an official extension which allows you to open different tabs in different containers. Other browsers offer 3rd-party extensions as well.
The best way to fix this is to avoid it in the first place. Here are a few tips how you can achieve this:
- If possible, avoid using multiple accounts in a single browsing context.
- Always log out from the account using the “Log Out” link. Simply closing a tab does not always log you out of the session. Furthermore, when you have closed the tab, the same session cannot be opened again with the aim of logging out from it.
- If using multiple accounts, use different browsing contexts (another browser, incognito/private browsing mode, containers in Firefox, profiles in Chrome, etc.).
