This article provides you information and instructions for removing the delegation of your DNS settings, if you do not want to keep sending emails in the way that your domain settings are delegated to Emarsys.
You can take back the delegation of your domains, subdomains and configure the sending domain at your own DNS management environment and handle reply management in either of the following ways:

Revoking the delegated DNS settings and keeping the Emarsys Reply Management
To revoke the DNS settings delegation and to keep the Emarsys Reply Management perform the following steps:
- Check all the current DNS records of your sending domain, copy them to your own DNS zone management tool.
Note: Do not change the Name Server (NS) entries at this stage. - Ensure that you have copied all the records of the DNS settings, the records are present and they are the exact copies of the domain records provided by Emarsys.
- Change the Name Server (NS) records on the sending domain (at your DNS manager) from
*.emarsys.net
to the NS records of your own environment, which is your (sub)domain(s) at your DNS zone manager. - Inform your support team about the changes made, so that the configuration can be deleted from Emarsys side.
Revoking the delegated DNS settings and managing your own replies
You can take back the DNS settings delegation and handle reply management on your own.
If you are using a Custom Return Path (CRP) and applying the same (sub)domain as your sending (sub)domain, you must maintain the same MX records. In that case, follow the instructions in Revoking the delegated DNS settings and keeping the Emarsys Reply Management.
To revoke your DNS settings and manage replies perform the following steps:
- Check and add all the necessary records of your DNS settings as described here to your current DNS management sending domain.
Note: Do not change the Name Server (NS) entries at this stage. - Ensure that you have copied all the records of the DNS settings, the records are present and they are the exact copies of the domain records provided by Emarsys.
- Create all mailboxes in your mail server that are present at Emarsys Reply Management. Ensure not to not lose any correspondence during the change.
- If you use your (sub)domain(s) as mail-from inform Emarsys support in order to update your configuration first.
- Change the MX records of your (sub)domain(s) (at your DNS zone manager) to your own MX records.
- Ensure that you can receive emails in the mailboxes opened at your side.
- Change the Name Server (NS) records on the sending domain (at your DNS manager) from
*.emarsys.net
to the NS records of your own environment (to your (sub)domain(s) (at your DNS zone manager). - Inform your support team about the changes made, in order to delete the configuration from Emarsys side and remove all the mailboxes that were created for Reply Management.
To make the transition faster we recommend first setting TTL to 600s (600 seconds = 10 minutes) on your NS records and then increasing it afterwards. Best practices dictate that short time TTL records are a sign of inconsistent sender. After the last step is completed you can change the TTL to 86,400s (24 hours) to optimize the DNS caching and the lookup speed of your domain.
