What types of plans are available?
Deciding the plan type is a strategic decision that in most cases cannot be changed after the first Loyalty launch. You can select from multiple different plan types and structures to cater for different business models.
These ensure that the workflow for rewarding and engaging with your customers fits the underlying use cases:
Points & Redemption
A point-based plan with a single or multiple tiers and points redemption
Members earn points from purchases and engagement, which they can redeem for rewards. You can start with a single-tier plan and add more tiers later, according to the organic groups that will be created among the members.
Single tier version
This is the easiest plan to get up and running, with a minimum of complex decisions required to be made. Members earn points from purchases and other actions, and can redeem them for different benefits. The more points you earn, the more benefits you can redeem. This version is recommended for a quick and effective start.
Multi-tier version
If you can categorize your customers into relatively clear buyer status groups, you might want to create multiple tiers and offering progressively better rewards. With this plan you can increase the gamification element and encourage members to accumulate points and upgrade to the next tier.
The higher tier you belong to, the more benefits and exclusivity you can get.
Points & Benefits / Multi-tier
A points-based plan with multiple tiers and benefits, without point redemption
This plan also encourages members to accumulate points and upgrade to the next tier (and unlock new benefits) but, unlike the previous plans, there are no redemption options for points earned. This suits businesses with lower purchase frequency, where it may cause frustration to offer rewards that take an excessively long time to earn.
Spend & Benefits / Multi-tier
Spend-based plan with single or multiple tiers and benefits, without points but with the option of cashback vouchers.
If you don’t want to put a material value on loyalty, or consider points to be "cheap and not exclusive", this plan lets you reward your customers with increasing benefits and exclusivity, based purely on their spending level. The cashback option will allow Loyalty members to earn cashback vouchers based on their accrued spend. This provides an extra layer of incentive and gamification that drives members for new purchases.
Please note that only one currency can be managed in a spend-based plan. If you manage multiple currencies, you will need to manage a separate plan for each currency.
Subscription
A Subscription-based plan with single or multiple tiers and benefits
This plan offers your customers to subscribe and earn the best exclusive benefits. Paid loyalty offers an attractive option for both attracting new customers and shoring up long-term customer value. This model is a great value proposition to retain customers with high shopping frequency, while the ongoing subscription fee revenue creates a consistent and predictable revenue stream. It can also help you to offer rewards that are too expensive to offer more widely.
This plan is completely managed by you using the Invitation only tier and Loyalty API (or manually via the Member Profile). You are responsible for adding and removing customers from the plan at your discretion.
Hybrid
A hybrid plan based on points or spend with a single or multiple subscription tiers
The hybrid model allows you to create a subscription tier which works in parallel with the other regular tiers. Loyal members who purchase frequently may prefer exclusive paid benefits than being a part of the loyalty gamification model.
The subscription tiers are completely managed by you using the Invitation only tier and Loyalty API (or manually via the Member Profile). You are responsible for adding and removing customers from the plan at your discretion.
