Loyalty data sits on a MySQL database. Therefore, to create Loyalty segments, you first need to create RDS segment templates.
Steps to create segment templates:
- Create credentials to the Loyalty RDS
- Configure the RDS connection in the platform
- Create the template segments
Creating credentials
To create loyalty database credentials, go to Loyalty Configuration > RDS Configuration.
You can create only one username and password for Loyalty RDS for your Emarsys account.
The connection will be the same for all your Loyalty plans within a single Emarsys account
The password is shown only once, at the creation time, so please save it in a secure place. If you lose it, please contact Emarsys Support.
Only account owners can create the credentials.
If you use SSO to log in to Emarsys, you cannot create RDS credentials for yourself. Please contact Emarsys Support to create the credentials for you.
Configuring Loyalty connection
Go to Add-Ons > Relational Data > Connections, and click on Create MySQL Connection.
Enter the details from the previous step into the new connection.
Name the connection: loyalty
When you finished entering all the details, click Test to check that the setup is correct, and the platform manages to connect to the relational database.
If you can’t see the Relation Data menu, the Connections tab or Create MySQL Connection, please contact Emarsys support. You might be in a Full Managed Setup , and Emarsys is handling these connections. In this case, provide support with the username/password, you got from the first step, so that they can set up the connection and the template segments for you.
After finishing with the connection, you can continue with setting up the segment templates.
