Synchronizing the configuration of the email template blocks allows you to apply the e-editable block element configurations of the currently selected block to one or more other blocks.
Synchronization means that these e-editable blocks remain paired. Any change to any of these blocks will update the behavior of other blocks in real-time.
Skipping elements in synchronization
If the target block does not have the corresponding e-editable element, then it is simply skipped. You can safely apply the configurations of larger blocks to other blocks containing a smaller subset of these elements.
Synchronizing configuration
1. Click either the Synchronise configuration button on top or the Synchronized with 0 blocks message at the bottom of the screen.
2. On the Synchronise Configuration screen, the left panel displays the list of blocks with which the previously configured block is linked in synchronization. The panel is empty if there was no synchronization earlier.
3. In the Search/Dropdown selector, start typing a Target block name, or select it from the dropdown list.
4. Select all eligible target blocks and click Synchronise.
As soon as the synchronization is complete, you are notified in a message with further information on the synchronization result.
Synchronization means that these e-editable blocks remain paired. Any change to any of these blocks will update the behavior of other blocks in real-time.
Changing synchronized blocks
Returning to the Block Configuration screen, you can now see that our first configured block is now in synchronization with the other blocks: Synchronized with N blocks.
Click Change blocks on top of screen and select one of the target blocks, to double check what the synchronization action achieved.
You can see, all applicable e-editable element configs were applied to the target block.
Breaking the synchronization link
You can break the synchronization link in the same interface. With this action, you have effectively created a copy of the source block, which now you can freely edit and modify, without impacting the original block or other blocks in the synchronization chain.
1. To break the synchronization link, simply click the Synchronised with N blocks button to access the Synchronization Configuration screen.
2. Click on the separate configuration buttons next to the Block name.
If you separate the current block from all synchronized blocks, you have effectively created a copy of the original block, one that you are now free to edit and synchronize with other blocks.
Notice how Synchronization feature allows you to apply your block configurations to other templates as well. This means one may implement VCE Product Search configs for all the templates and all the blocks of an account from a single original block.
The changes applied in the Block configurator are applied to all synchronized blocks instantly.
