Product documentation
Good-to-know and limitations
Good-to-know
- Emarsys does not have control over the validity of the Mobile Wallet configuration, that is to be checked and verified by your back-end systems. Renew Apple configuration once a year. Google configuration is not needed to renew.
- Vouchers hold an expiry date option. When approaching the validity date the client is notified from the Mobile Wallet app. (Google only.)
- Using non-recommended size image might have an impact on the performance of the service.
- A potential misuse of Mobile Wallet's service is when an end user repetitively clicks the same Wallet Pass link triggering this way multiple generations. To prevent this, a delay mechanism was implemented in the Mobile Pass generation process, that can notify the end user about generated Pass for a single engagement event on the landing page.
- Mobile Wallet Passes on multiple devices:
- If an end user accesses the Mobile Wallet campaign link on multiple devices, the Mobile Pass generation will be reported independently on each device.
- The lock-screen icon at the bottom of the Campaign Settings differs from the logo image in the top left corner of the Preview.
Limitations
- Mobile Wallet Pass notifications (a.k.a. Wallet push messages) are a native platform Mobile Wallet feature. Mobile Wallet pass notifications are delivered according to Mobile Wallet pass type out of the box. There is no availability to control their timing or content whatsoever.
- Email block is supported only by the VCE.
- Mobile Wallet Passes that were downloaded offline by the end user cannot be removed, only by the end user.
- Mobile Wallet campaigns can only use personalization tokens from contact and vouchers data.
- It is strongly recommended for barcodes to use integers as contact identifiers not strings.
