The SAP Emarsys Customer Engagement Platform only requires a browser and Internet connection, but there are still some settings that you should bear in mind so that you get the optimal experience and access to all our features.

Supported browsers and operating systems
The SAP Emarsys Customer Engagement Platform can be accessed via any operating system and web browser. Since we do not commit to supporting any given set of browser and OS combinations, we don't like to recommend one browser over another.
As a general rule, we do support the current and previous version of Chrome, Firefox, Safari and Edge.
To minimize the risk of disruption to your experience with the Platform, you should always make sure that you are using the latest version of your browser and OS, and have all the latest security updates installed.
If you are using the latest versions, but experience unexpected behavior with the platform, please consider the following:
- The latest version of your browser may already be several years old, and does not support the latest web technologies.
- New browser versions can be buggy in the first months following their release.
You should also always make sure that the URL you use when accessing the Emarsys Platform starts with https:// instead of http://.
Browser settings
We strongly recommend using the Platform in a single browser and in a single tab.
Using multiple browser tabs at the same time can introduce the risk of race conditions, which can result in loss of information, loss of data and incomplete actions.
Many of the Emarsys Platform features use pop-ups, so make sure that these are not blocked by your browser. instructions for this can easily be found online, for example:
- https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/pop-blocker-settings-exceptions-troubleshooting
In addition to this, you should make sure to enable cookies and Javascript. This will ensure that all of our additional features, for example Enhance Add-ons, work exactly as expected.
Multiple login sessions blocking add-ons
The Emarsys Platform is able to handle simultaneous logins to different accounts from the same browser session. This feature enables you to log in to account A and account B from the same browser, while keeping the two accounts completely sandboxed.
However, some add-ons and services do not support this, since allowing them to function in such a way can cause inconsistent behavior. When the Platform detects multiple sessions from the same browser, it displays the following warning when you try to open such an add-on or service:
If you encounter this error, you must open a different browsing session for each account that you are logged in to. There are several ways you can do this.
Incognito browsing
Most modern browsers have an incognito or private browsing mode, which allows you to have more than one session open, so you can log in to two accounts simultaneously.
Please note that separate tabs in private browsing are not different sessions.
Browser extensions
Firefox has an official extension which allows you to open different tabs in different containers. Other browsers offer 3rd-party extensions as well.
Even so, the best way to fix this is to avoid it in the first place. Here are a few tips:
- If possible, avoid using multiple accounts in a single browsing context.
- Always log out from the account using the Log Out link. Simply closing a tab does not always log you out of the session. Furthermore, when you have closed the tab, the same session cannot be opened again with the aim of logging out from it.
- If using multiple accounts, log in to each one in a different browsing context (another browser, incognito/private browsing mode, containers in Firefox, profiles in Chrome, etc.).
