Is it possible to match responses to individual contacts?
No, just as we do not share your clients' personal data with the networks, they do not share the data they have with us. We receive reports at campaign level, not contact level.
Can users opt out from receiving ads?
Yes, through the ad network. All networks have mechanisms that allow people to opt out of receiving ads from the advertiser.
Are my Lookalike Audiences made up entirely of new leads and prospects?
Not necessarily. The networks automatically exclude users in the source audience, but they do not check to see if the users they select for the lookalike audience are already in your database (or even in another custom audience). It is therefore possible that some existing contacts may also appear in lookalike audiences. To avoid this, you should explicitly exclude all your other audiences when launching the campaign from the network.
What is the timeframe for Lookalike Audience creation?
Emarsys immediately requests that the lookalike audiences be created on the ad network; the network does the rest, and there's nothing Emarsys can do to influence the speed of that process.
How many audiences can I create through Emarsys?
You can create up to 100 audiences per Emarsys account. If you require more audiences than this, please contact Emarsys Support to increase the limit for you.
Your audiences are only limited by the thresholds set by the network before they can be targeted:
- A Facebook audience must have a minimum of 100 contacts, but Emarsys recommends a minimum of 1,000 contacts.
- Google and TikTok require at least 1,000 contacts.
When and why should I remove contacts from audiences in Automations?
In order to optimize your advertising budget spend, you should always consider removing a contact from an audience once they have converted, as shown in the automated program below.
How often can audiences be refreshed?
It can take a few hours for the networks to match an audience once a request has been received (although this is usually much quicker). Emarsys sends audience updates:
- In real time, if a contact is added to an audience through the Automation Center.
- Daily for segment audiences.
Is there a limit to the size or number of my audiences?
You can create up to 100 audiences in total, each containing up to 20 million contacts.
The total of 100 audiences includes the archived audiences. If you run out of audiences, we recommend cleaning up your audiences in order to create more.
Due to API tariff limits, the total number of contacts in all audiences for a connection should not exceed 100 million contacts, otherwise we will not be able to keep all audiences up-to-date.
What happens if I delete a Lead Ads subscription and recreate it using the same form? Will the new contacts be added to the previous contact list?
Yes. As long as the list has not been deleted or renamed, Lead Ads will recognize it when auto-generating the subscription name. Any previously added contacts will remain in the contact list, and new subscriptions will be added to it.
Is it possible to import audiences from ad networks to Emarsys?
No, the ad networks do not share their customer data with us.
Is the cost of media included in the Digital Ads product?
Media costs are not included and are billed separately by the ad network.
What does the status Pending on network mean?
This status means that the network is processing and analyzing the successfully transferred audience. Depending on the network, it may take some time for a newly created audience to become available for use:
- Meta: up to an hour
- Google: up to 24 hours
- TikTok: up to an hour
This status is only shown for segment audiences.
How do I use my existing ad network account with Digital Ads?
You authorize the Digital Ads app to access your existing ad network account to create and manage audiences on your behalf. Billing is done directly between you and the network.
