You can copy blocks within a template without recreating the blocks from scratch in the VCE editor. For example, copying a block comes in handy in the following cases:
- If you need to create multiple variants from the same block (e.g. various language versions of the same block or blocks with the same layout having different content) for block targeting.
- If your template consists of similar blocks, then it’s faster and easier to duplicate an existing block and edit it than to create one from scratch.
Here is what you need to do to copy a block from a template:
1. Navigate to Content > Block-Based Templates, open the template, hover over the block you need and click the Copy icon.
2. The editor opens the source code of the copied block. You can adjust it as you need.
Make sure you rename the new block after copying it to make it easier to find in the list. When you copy the block, the Copy of suffix followed by the old block’s name will be added to the new block’s name.
3. When you are ready, click Save.
4. The copied block is available in the bottom of the Content Blocks menu.
