Emarsys Customer Engagement Demo tenants are special SAP Emarsys accounts created for our Partners, to showcase the capabilities of the platform for pre-sales and sales purposes.
A great advantage of Demo tenants is that they work out of the box, so you don’t have to go through the full account setup process.
Please note that Demo tenants are populated with demo data and differ from production environments, because they only provide limited functionality.
Due to these limitations, some use cases that you want to demo can only be shown rather than fully interacted with.
How to request a demo tenant
Partners need to request a Demo tenant via the SAP Partner Edge portal.
This will trigger an automated process that will create the baseline set of data for a new tenant. Additionally, there may be some further steps to take based on your exact requirements, see below.
Functionality available in Demo tenants
All Demo tenants come with their own branded demo storefront, which you can use to show Web Extend and track events in the Predict Data Sources.
For more complex scenarios involving a storefront, you will need to speak to your Partner Manager to obtain access to the storefront's admin interface.
Functionality not available in Demo tenants
- Email sending is not supported.
- Domain setup is not available (i.e. no link and/or sender domain).
- Personalization rules cannot be set up.
- Although you can only use pseudo-Loyalty tokens, they come with a Relational Data database setup that can be used for personalization preview.
- Changes to the existing setup/implementation are not supported.

FAQ
I cannot access the Smart Insight screens. What shall I do?
Please check if your user role is set to BI Administrator. You can change the user role on the Management > User Management page. If you cannot change your user role, please contact the Admin or Account Owner. For more information, see Editing user profiles.
How can I create access for additional users?
The Account Owner can create access for additional users. For more information, see About Account Owners.
Can I use the API on a Demo tenant?
Yes, the Account Owner can create API credentials. For more information, see API users.
Known issues and limitations
- Web Channel preview: When you would like to preview the test functionality during a Web Channel campaign creation demo, make sure you stay on the same tab in the browser and copy and paste the entire URL from the actual store connected to your account. For more information, please contact your Partner Experience Manager.
- Loyalty: Please note that the Loyalty UI available on demo accounts is limited and does not support creating net new assets. For demo purposes, please use the existing assets that have been created in order to showcase the different capabilities offered by Loyalty. You can use Relational Data tables for custom use cases, such as customizing contact previews and creating personalization tokens.
