This article provides some examples of how the Ribbon Web Channel campaign can be used, and we guide you in deciding when and how to use it.
When should I use Ribbon campaigns?
The Ribbon campaign displays a narrow ribbon, only minimally affecting your visitors' browsing experience, which is a less intrusive campaign type. The ribbon is displayed at the top or bottom of the page or follows the user's scrolling.
Using the Visual Editor or HTML Editor you can select from pre-created layouts and apply a Ribbon campaign to:
- Remind your visitors about an ongoing offer.
- Share a personal voucher code that is about to expire.
- Display a general cookie notification.

Unintrusive messaging for mobile
The following is a typical use case for using Ribbon Web Channel campaign edited with Visual Editor:
Let's say, you want to display a discrete, unintrusive ribbon with a message for mobile users. In this ribbon you share a personal voucher code.
Using voucher codes in Web Channel campaigns means that one voucher code is used for each contact in the Web Channel audience regardless of impressions. Also, a new voucher code is used for each contact when the Web Channel audience is refreshed (in cca. every 2 hours).
Each contact in the Web Channel campaign segment receives a voucher code assigned to them even if they visited the site or the Web Channel campaign or not.
Note, that voucher tokens prepared under Content > Voucher Management may encounter issues in Web Channel campaigns. Before including such voucher tokens in Web Channel campaigns, send them in email campaigns first.
Try the updated version of Vouchers under Add-ons with new tokens. For more information, contact your Client Success Manager.
